The annual “Kings of UWC” five-a-side soccer tournament takes place at the university’s sports grounds on Sunday.

All alumni are invited to participate in the event or support the day itself.

A R5000 prize is on offer for the winning squad, which should comprise of eight players.

The tournament, now in its seventh year, was established by UWC alumni who have passions for sport and bringing people together. The graduates used soccer as a vehicle to maintain a connection with their alma mater.

It is an ideal opportunity for former and current students to socialise and have fun on the field. The format of the tournament will enable current students to pit their skills against those from years gone by, with a few spots available for teams still available.

Entry cost for the event is R400 per team and kick-off on Sunday is at 11:00.
