Rand tanks petrol price

2015-09-29 06:00

Gains in international petrol prices have been negated by the deteriorating rand. This is according to the Automobile Association.

“The price of 95 unleaded petrol is to remain unchanged, while a decrease of seven cents a litre is predicted for 93 unleaded.”

Diesel consumers will see a price jump of up to 50 cents a litre, with rand weakness accounting for around two-thirds of this. Illuminating paraffin shows a similar picture.

“It is very difficult to forecast the movement of the fuel price by month end.”
