Zeekoevlei High School recently became the recipient of a generous donation by the organisation Link to Norway.

The school, which had a 98.3% matric pass rate last year, received 11 laptops and seven projectors.

School principal William Prinsloo says they are grateful for the donation.

“The equipment we received is two significant tools for education. We will definitely be sure to use it to our best ability,” Prinsloo says.

He adds: “We will be sure to put this equipment to good use. It will definitely make our teachers jobs easier.”

Dennis Gowdy from the Wynberg Rotary Club explains the school was adopted by the club to be beneficiaries of an ongoing relationship with Link to Norway.

“A group of Norwegian students host a career day every year where they raise funds. This money is then donated to our various organisations and the schools we have adopted. With this donation we decided to spend it on Zeekoevlei High,” Gowdy explains.

The donation of laptops and projectors is valued at just more than R115 000.

The school was also the recipient of R100 000 earlier this year, which was used for bursaries for pupils.

Gowdy adds that the Zeekoevlei is one of seven schools in the Grassy Park area that benefit annually from donations made by Link to Norway.

“I trust that this equipment will make you cleverer than you already are. We hope you benefit well from this donation and use it to best effect,” Gowdy said to pupils during the handover ceremony at a school assembly
