One of the world’s top basketball teams, the Harlem Globetrotters, will unleash their special blend of athleticism and theatre, during their first tour of South Africa in almost two decades.

Set to put on their most outrageous exhibition yet at GrandWest’s Grand Arena on 1 and 2 July, the Harlem Globetrotters will enthral Cape Town audiences with a showcase of the basketball skills that have placed them in the record books since their inception in 1926.

Their family-styled performances will be packed with upside-down shots, trick shots and passes, as well as slam dunks and three pointers hurled from the opposite side of the court, also known as downtown.

“We are excited to be part of bringing the Harlem Globetrotters to Cape Town this winter, and to give local audiences a chance to experience their awe-inspiring skills and showmanship first hand,” says Elouise Matthys of GrandWest.

The Harlem Globetrotters is an American basketball exhibition team. Founded in 1926 the Globetrotters have risen in fame and legacy with their skills and exuberance. The squad is made up of talented male and female athletes who put on entertaining shows that the entire family can enjoy. Their passion for the sport is matched only by their heart as they continue to be goodwill ambassadors worldwide.

Tickets to events at GrandWest are available at Computicket.
