Stories from a guitarist

2015-05-05 06:00

One of Cape Town’s favourite Jazz musicians, Jonathan Rubain, returns to the Baxter Theatre with a brand new show How did I get here from Tuesday 7 to Saturday 18 April.

After the success of Intimate Nights Chapter II and I’m in love with a guitarist, both staged at the Baxter, Jonathan was recently seen in Love, Jazz andamp; Duets where he performed alongside Don Vino Prins and the late Zayn Adam.

This time around, Jonathan will be joined on stage by Nur Abrahams, Trevino Isaacs on piano, Lechester Williams on bass and Jason Ward on percussion.

He plans to entertain audiences and jazz lovers with stories of how music influenced his life and the impact it had on him becoming a multi-talented bass guitarist.

Jonathan will share experiences, his love for Jazz and the lessons that shaped his career as a composer and musician.

The show includes originally composed music, and will be performed in English and Afrikaans.
