2016-04-19 06:00

One of three men who made off with shoes after burglaring Shado shoes in Wynberg, has been arrested.

The theft took place on Sunday 3 April at about 03:00, after the suspects kicked the glass door open.

Police showed security footage to some informers and found one suspect living in Westlake. He was arrested. The other two suspects are still at large.

In a separate incident on Friday 8 April at around 19:00 in Baker Road, Kenilworth, four men broke into a house and stole a TV and a laptop, but swift police work lead to their arrest.

While loading the goods they were spotted by the neighbour who took pictures.

One of the men grabbed the neighbour’s cellphone and went back to the car they were using. He then removed the registration number of the vehicle. It was later picked up on security footage that it was a silver VW Polo.

Detectives investigated further and the vehicle was spotted in Gugulethu, where the driver was arrested on charges of burglary and robbery.

On Monday 25 April he will appear for a bail application in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court.
