A 29-year-old woman from Silvertown was arrested on Thursday (16 February) after she was found with a packet of uncut tik.

Athlone police spokesperson, Sergeant Zita Norman, says officers searched a prominent drug house in Anthony Road and discovered 10 packets of uncut tik in one of the rooms.

She says the estimated street value of the drugs is not known at this stage and the woman is set to appear in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

“The house is very problematic for the community. The community of Silvertown is encouraged to report drug houses. This is just the start of greater things in our plans to eliminate drug houses.”
