Boy’s ‘killers’ arrested

2017-10-03 06:05

Ocean View police have arrested two people for the murder of Aqueel Davids.

The nine-year-old boy was killed and a woman and two men were injured in a shooting in Nebula Way last month (“Boy (9) killed in one of sporadic shootings”, People’s Post, 12 September).

Police operations over the weekend led to the arrest of 34 people, aged between 17 and 53, for a range of crimes, including murder and possession of drugs and dangerous weapons.

“The investigation of the other shootings is under way and police are searching for more suspects who should be arrested in due course,” says Ocean View police spokesperson Sergeant Leon Fortuin.

Officers will continue to maintain “high police visibility in Ocean View to ensure that the community can live without the fear of crime and can feel safe in their homes once again,” Fortuin adds.
