The Wynberg Rotary Club’s annual charity show, Last Night of the Proms, showcases this year’s Olympics with the theme “Going for gold”.

Richard Cock will conduct mass choirs and the Cape Town Proms Orchestra at the City Hall on Saturday and Sunday. Soprano Leah Gunter and accordionist Stanislav Angelov will perform.

The Cape Town Highlanders will perform in the second half, in which balloon races, streamers and sing-alongs to perennial favourites will lighten the tone.

A selection of prizes can be won by audience members, including gift vouchers from Peter Gilder Jewellery in Constantia and a four-ball of golf at Steenberg Golf Club.

The Volunteer Wildfire Services will be this year’s beneficiary.

Tickets cost R225 and R275 from Computicket. Parking will be available on the Grand Parade. V For more information contact Graham Todd on 082 498 3986 or gtodd@intekom.co.za.
