The Message Trust and Sports Chaplaincy South Africa (SCZA) teamed-up to host the first ever Kick24 soccer event at Ajax Cape Town’s Ikamva traning grounds in June last year.

The aim of this event was to raise awareness against gangsterism and crime in and for these two charities, both of which are actively involved in the upliftment of young people in the toughest communities.

“This year we are pleased to announce that Kick24 will be running again at our events partner, Ajax, and their Ikamva Grounds. This is a continuation from last year’s event, which was highly successful. We saw the likes of Carl Wastie, Chad Saaiman and scores of pro-players take on amateur players,” says Beth Ann Bielik, Project Manager, Message South Africa.

The event will take place on Friday 23 June from 17:00 to 22:00.

This year’s format will be slightly different, providing the opportunity for four teams to play the Kick24 team of soccer professionals and celebrities, including Nathan Paulse (Ajax Cape Town), Cole Alexander (SuperSport United) and Eleazar Rodgers (Wits University). Each game will be 50 minutes long (two 25 minute halves), with teams paying a fee – all proceeds will go to The Message Trust and SCZA.

“On the night, there will be mini competitions, a raffle and entertainment so fans can come and see the Kick24 team in action and have a great evening out! There will also be a number of sponsorship opportunities, so corporates can support our cause to see crime and gangsterism kicked out of our society.”
