The City of Cape Town’s expanded public works programme recently hosted a coaching programme at Turfhall stadium for young softball players.

As part of the City’s partnership agreement with sport and recreation organisations, the Cape Town Softball Association has three coaches employed in this manner. The coaching programme has now extended to seven schools, namely Leliebloem Children’s Home and Belthorn, Plantation Road, Eurecon and Holy Cross primary schools.

Some of these schools have now linked to clubs and also compete in the youth leagues of the association.

On Friday, these schools got together at the home of softball, Turfhall, for a mini tournament in culmination of the training given to the learners over the past few months.
