Officers attached to the Mitchell’s Plain Crime Prevention Unit held several operations from Monday 17 to Thursday 20 April to address crime.

On Monday 17 April the Mitchell’s Plain Crime Prevention Unit arrested a 30-year-old man for possession of 74 Mandrax tablets in Korfbal Street, Beacon Valley. Officers were conducting patrols when they saw a suspicious man and found Mandrax in his possession, wrapped in foil.

Also on Thursday 20 April, officers arrested a 28-year-old man for the possession of an unlicensed firearm in Parkhuis Street, Tafelsig. At 10:30 officers followed up on information about a man who had a firearm and found one Black Star 9mm pistol with a magazine and five live rounds on him.
