Hollywood actress Charlize Theron and The Daily Show host Trevor Noah paid a surprise visit to a local school in Lansdowne last Monday morning.

Their private visit to Oaklands High School in Chucker Road was facilitated by non-profit organisation Life Choices and formed part of an initiative to promote responsible decisions among learners.

According to learners, the memorable visit inspired them to dream big despite facing daily challenges.

“It was an amazing programme. We normally see these stars on TV, but today they got to inspire us personally. I will remember this day forever,” said one learner.

Noah took to social media after the visit, posting a picture.

“Thank you Oaklands High and Life Choices for giving us an opportunity to be part of something so amazing. To see how much better a person’s life can be if we just invest in people at a young age is inspiring and eye-opening,” he wrote.
