A local photographic club has taken one of the top spots in a provincial competition.

The Fish Hoek Photographic Society came third in this year’s Western Cape interclub competition, which saw amateur photographic clubs from around the province competing against each other.

The Cape Town Photographic Society (CTPS) was the winner and the Tygerberg Photographic Society placed second.

The Fish Hoek Photographic Society is less than one point behind the runner-up.

The top photographer – who received the most points for two images entered – was Rob Tarr of Fish Hoek,

David Barnes of Tygerberg came second. The third place was shared by Pat Scott and Joan Ward, both from CTPS.

Eleven clubs in the province – as far afield as Worcester, Hermanus and Malmesbury – participated in the annual competition. Each club could enter up to twelve prints and digital images produced by members during the year, limited to two per member.

The awards evening was held in Bellville in October. The hosting is shared amongst the participating clubs and this year’s host was Creative Camera Club of Wynberg.
