Help with Seawinds kids’ day

2017-08-22 06:00

Divine Revelation Ministry in Seawinds will be hosting a children’s sports day and they are pleading for support from members of the community.

The sports day will take place at Zerilda Park Primary School in Seawinds on Saturday 2 September.

Their aim is to reach between 200 and 300 children, which include the partnering children’s ministry and children from the area.

The church has five active ministries with the children’s ministry being one of them. This children’s ministry will be hosting the sports day.

The children’s ministry serves children from the communities of Cafda, Lavender Hill, Seawinds, Hillview and Military Heights.

Justin Hendricks, children’s ministry director, says they are partnering with other children’s ministries in the area.

“Due to the vulnerability of our children who live in these crime-infested areas (as highlighted by the recent spate of horrific deaths of young children) our aim is to raise awareness of child safety and to reach them on a fun level,” says Hendricks.

They have increased their numbers from 15 to nearly 60 local children.

“We render services of a spiritual and holistic nature and aim to transform the community by inspiring children to participate and be empowered.

“We would like help in making this awareness programme a success. We are appealing for donations or sponsorship from anyone who can help us,” says Hendricks.
