A delivery truck assistant has been arrested after the truck was robbed in in Hout Bay last month.

A delivery truck driver and his assistant were robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash and two cellphones

outside a well-known supermarket on Saturday 21 November.

Warrant officer Tanya Lesch, spokesperson of Hout Bay police station, says the robbers were wearing balaclavas and gloves.

Two detectives, Warrant Officer Glen Kotze and Constable Phila Mvunelo, followed up on information and questioned the 23-year-old assistant, which led to his arrest.

“An address in Mufuleni was visited and the vehicle, a silver-grey Golf 4, that was used in the armed robbery, was recovered,” Lesch says. She says more arrests could follow.

. Meanwhile, members of Hout Bay police followed up on information which led to two houses in Imizamo Yethu, Hout Bay being searched on Wednesday 25 November at 02:30.

Three arrests were made for dealing in and possession of drugs. Lesch says dagga was confiscated.
