Info session in Gatesville

2016-11-08 06:00

The Gatesville and Rylands Neighbourhood Watch will be hosting a street and bylaws workshop at Rylands High School today at 18:30.

The information workshop is open to all and will be conducted by City of Cape Town Law Enforcement.

Fowzia Veerasamy, chairperson of Gatesville Neighbourhood Watch, says she hopes the public takes full advantage of this opportunity.

“The City will be giving the people in the community input on what the rules and regulations are, not just for neighbourhood watch members, but for all residents,” says Veerasamy.

She says community issues, such as the parking of cars, vagrants, noise pollution and trucking in residential areas, will be addressed. They will also receive information on how to deal with these issues, whom to speak to and what the Constitution says.

“It is not just for the neighbourhood watch; I am branching it out for residents in our area also.

“That is why I asked the neighbourhood watches across the borders to invite their residents as well.

“It might be that residents will join the watch later and be familiar with the streets and bylaws regulations,” she concludes.V For more information contact Fowzia Veerasamy on 061 774 6547 or
