A group of girls at Perivale Primary recently received an essentials bag through an initiative to boost their confidnece.

The Invisible Crown Project visited the school on Tuesday 30 August.

Started by Nadine Harker and Natasha Weber, the project aims to provide girls with hygiene necessities that will improve thier self-esteem, self-belief, self-worth, confidence and dignity.

The project focuses in girls attending schools serving socio-economically challenged and underprivileged communities .

With these ‘Invisible Crown’ products girls will be inspired and motivated to achieve better school results, says Perivale Primary School principal Denzil van Graan.

“Many of our girls aren’t provided with the hygiene items required that they require as they become teenagers and lack basic hygiene skills,” explains van Graan.

The motto of project is: “Young girls... Don’t forget to wear your invisible crown.”

The items girls received included sanitary towels, soap, face clothes, tissue pack, roll-on, lip balm, toothpaste, a tooth brush, a comb, powder and razors.
