2017-02-21 06:00

Vigilance has seen police officers nabbing criminals in the act in Sea Point.

Constable Malibongwe Gana was patrolling in Wisbeach Road last Monday at 15:50 when he noticed a white Polo parked in the street, and a person hiding in the car. Gana searched the car and found some small plastic bags containing cocaine. The 33-year-old driver from Rochester Road, Salt River was arrested.

In an unrelated incident on Thursday 9 February at 04:00, sergeants Martin Joseph and Gail Dyssel were patrolling in Main Road, Green Point when they spotted a man running towards a taxi, with two heavy bags in his hands.

Joseph approached the man, searched the bags and found cellphones, laptops and clothes that were later found to have been stolen from a house in Main Road.

The man, a 37-year-old Kenian from Woodstock, was arrested for the possession of stolen property.
