An Eastridge youth centre has made big strides in keeping children in school.

The iLearning Centre based at Ethel’s Place Youth Centre in Civet Street was established in October this year with Johannes Lambert volunteering to teach the children.

“Though we started at the end of 2016, I am confident that we will see a marked improvement in our year-end school results from most of the learners attending this after- class tutor programme,” says Ashley Potts, Ethel’s Place director.

On Thursday 15 December, the centre held a graduation ceremony for the local children who attended the programme.

“The learnings encountered through the i-Learning process was well worth it.

Next year is going to see huge success, thanks to the commitment of the learners and the parents from this community.

Get behind the growing success and let us help ensure that our children go to school, stay in school and finish stronger and stronger,” says Potts.

“We had our turn, now let’s make it possible for them to climb and grow to the positions of influence they themselves believe possible.”
