The effervescent Judith Sephuma will be lighting up the stage at the GrandWest Grand Arena on Saturday for the inaugural People’s Post Soul Sisters Mother’s Day Celebration.

Judith and a star-studded line-up including Three tons of Fun, Vicky Sampson, Salome Johansen, Maddy Abrahams, Can Skylark and Jody Williams will be celebrating women and mothers with an evening of glamourous entertainment.

These special ladies will be backed by Camillo Lombard and his 12-piece band while Marguerita Freeks will hold the show together as the MC for the evening.

People’s Post asked Judith a few quick questions before the celebration:

. What are you busy with musically at the moment?

“I am currently promoting my new album One Word.”

. What are your musical plans for the next few months?

“We are planning on travelling to Europe for a few performances and then back to Johannesburg for a possible gospel recording. At the moment all we want to do is to take One Word to as many of our fans as possible.”

. How will you be treating your mother this Mother’s Day?

“My mother always looks forward to Mother’s Day. She knows this is one of the times in her life where we really celebrate her even though she is celebrated all year. But Mother’s Day becomes really special to all mothers. We always do different things for her. If [I’m] not on the road we always come together and have a dinner and give her gifts and my mom always appreciates having all her children around. That is always special to her.”

. Why is your mother special to you?

“My mom is a pillar of strength to all of us and she is one of the reasons why we remain strong and why we keep striving to also become good mothers to our children. Her arms are always open and her love is so unconditional- the God kind of love.

. Are you planning any surprises for the audience at the People’s Post Soul Sisters Mother’s Day Celebration?

“The audience always direct our show but there will definitely be great songs that they love and songs they will get to know and love; songs from A Cry, a Smile, a Dance and a bit more from my new album One Word.V The People’s Post Soul Sisters Mother’s Day Celebration starts at 20:00 on Saturday 7 May at GrandWest’s Grand Arena. Tickets for the show cost between R165 and R250 and are available at Computicket.
