Police are requesting assistance from the community to end gang violence.

On Sunday 26 June at 17:00 Mitchell’s Plain police received a complaint of a murder that took place in Korfbal Street, Beacon Valley. The deceased was identified as a 41-year-old man.

The victim was found lying in front of the dining room door. He sustained a gunshot wound to his chest.

No arrests have been made but police believe the motive to be gang related.

“We encourage the community to report illegal gang activities. We need our communities to support us and to take a stand against crime by reporting these activities,” says spokesperson Captain Ian Williams.

V Anyone with information can call investigating officer Detective Constable Angus November on 021 370 1782 or 082 777 8076.
