More music in Trafalgar Park

2016-10-11 06:00

There’s a buzz and a beat happening at Trafalgar Park in Woodstock with more musical magic happening during the summer season.

Fresh off hitting the right notes with the Heritage Music Picnic at the venue, Woodstock Live is hosting the annual Hip-Hop and Reggae Sunday on 30 October.

It is no secret that Cape Town’s live music scene is one of the most exciting in South Africa and there is strong support for hip-hop and reggae.

“An extremely loyal fan base, coupled with progressive production and songwriting put these two genres at the cutting edge of the music industry,” says Christopher de Vries of Woodstock Live.

“At this event the historic Trafalgar Park will feature an incredible lineup that includes Hemelbesem, Youngsta, EJ von Lyrik, the Rudimentals, Sons of Selassie and Crosby. DJs include Dubmaster China, DJ Real Rozzano and DJ Yellow.”

He says Woodstock Live is a series of multi-genre music events showcasing Cape Town musicians in a park setting.

“This instalment, once again in the beautiful Trafalgar Park, presents the best of the hip-hop and reggae scene.

“Over Heritage Day weekend we filled the park with locals and music lovers from across the peninsula.

“This next concert, featuring hip-hop and reggae, forms part of a series of events bringing multiple genres into the open air space.”

Tickets are available at Webtickets.
