A new executive committee has been elected to serve the Lansdowne Civic Association.

The association’s members held an elective general meeting at Groenvlei High School on Tuesday 9 May.

Residents elected Nasrudien Firfirey as chairperson, Moosa Omar as vice-chairperson, Igshaan Jacobs as secretary, Alfonso Theunissen as assistant secretary, Qaied Jassiem as treasurer and Na-aem Williams as public relations officer.

Esme Gradwell, Hassan Mohamed and Shheen Hendricks were chosen as three trustees and Mogamad Armeen Davids, Riyaahd Kearns and Samantha Theunissen were elected as additional members.

Firfirey says: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the previous executive for the sterling work they did during their tenure and I am positive that the current executive will be able to call on the previous hierarchy for assistance should the need arise.

“I have no doubt that we will always strive to deliver our best. We would like to establish a relationship with our residents and the Lansdowne Community Policing Forum. Together we will strive to build on the legacy of our predecessors.”
