No time for robbers

Swift action by police led to the arrest of four suspects in a robbery.

Mere hours after suspects allegedly robbed a jewellery store in Mitchell’s Plain, police obtained CCTV footage and jumped into action.

The robbery took place on Tuesday afternoon last week.

According to reports two robbers smashed the shop’s cabinets and stole an undisclosed amount of jewellery from the shop. They fled the scene in a car.

Police visited the scene and video footage was obtained immediately from the security control room. On receiving and confirming the registration of the car the information was shared with the Khayelitsha tactical response team who conducted a preliminary investigation.

Later that same afternoon four suspects were arrested and the car and exhibits were recovered.

The suspects are expected to appear in court once charged.V Share your thoughts. Starting with the word “Mpost” SMS your views to 32516. SMSes cost R1.
