The Strandfontein Community Policing Forum (CPF) launched its 16 Days of Activism campaign on a high note when it established a support group for victims of domestic violence.

“We have ensured that every day for the 16 days, we create more awareness around gender-based violence in our community,” says CPF chairperson Sandy Schuter.

Safety structures participated in a mass patrol last Tuesday, as a show of solidarity against gender-based violence in Strandfontein. Pointer Patrol, Camp Watch, Pilot and Recife block committees and others joined in on the patrol.

The CPF and police visited 1234 ECD in Strandfontein last Monday to educate the children about child abuse.

“The Strandfontein CPF and Strandfontein police would like to thank the safety structures for the ongoing support, their faithfulness, dedication, commitment and willingness to help when it’s needed. We would not have been as successful as we are, if it was not for the volunteers. The victim support is the backbone of the support of victims of crime; we appreciate you and the time you are sacrificing voluntarily to the community of Strandfontein,” says Schuter.
