Entrepreneurs in Mitchell’s Plain and Khayelitsha are encouraged to enter a competition that could assist in starting or expanding their businesses.

ENSafrica’s pro bono offices in Mitchell’s Plain are hosting the Business Plan Competition that could see the winner receive a cash injection to spend on their business ideas. Plans submitted will then be subject to adjudication by the ENSafrica tax team.

“The competition is open to entrepreneurs in Mitchell’s Plain and Khayelitsha who have an existing business that they wish to expand on, as well as those who wish to start new businesses,” says Natasha Wagiet, a pro bono co-ordinator.

The winner of the Business Plan Competition stands to win a cash prize as well as legal assistance from the ENSafrica tax team.

The competition is open to entrepreneurs in Mitchell’s Plain and Khayelitsha only.

“The Business Plan should contain a comprehensive account of the new business idea or in the case where the entrepreneur is looking to expand their business, a comprehensive account of the envisaged expansion,” says Wagiet.

The competition will run until 16:00 on Tuesday 1 November. The winner of the competition will be announced on Friday 18 November. “This competition is important as it is an initiative which aims to enhance the business of an entrepreneur from Khayelitsha or Mitchell’s Plain. The competition further aims to play an important role in motivating residents of both Mitchell’s Plain and Khayelitsha to explore the option of becoming entrepreneurs and opening businesses in these areas,” says Wagiet.
