The inaugural Jazz in the Park event, featuring Salome and Wayne McKay, was a great success.

Scores of people flocked to Westridge Gardens on Sunday to enjoy a free afternoon of dancing and family fun.

The initiative was supported by subcouncil 23 and was funded by ward 75 and 76 budget allocations.

The event was meant to encourage the use of parks for community building and a way out of crime.
