Police bust house robbers

Quick action by police in Claremont netted a network of thieves last week.

At about 14:15 on Tuesday 24 May, officers were on routine crime prevention patrols when they received information regarding a white Avanza with six occupants who were involved in a house break-in in Malleson Road, Mowbray.

Police in Palmyra Road and spotted the suspicious vehicle and called for reinforcements. A chase ensued and police managed to pull over the vehicle in Imam Haron Road.

They recovered a television, four cameras, an assortment of jewellery, a crow bar and a screw driver. The six male suspects, aged 28 to 35, were arrested and will face charges relating to housebreaking and theft, possession of presumably stolen property and possession of housebreaking implements.
