Police search for Steenberg shooter

An man has been injured in a shooting in Orchestra Street, Steenberg.

Local police responded to a report of a shooting on Thursday 29 September and found the victim lying in a yard. Steenberg police spokesperson Warrant Officer John Bartlett says the 35-year-old victim sustained a gunshot wound to his left foot. It is alleged that the victim was standing outside when “he heard gunshots going off”.

He was transported to Victoria Hospital for medical treatment. Fifteen cartridges were found on the scene. No arrests have been made.
