A popular advanced fitment centre situated along Klip Road in Grassy Park was demolished and is no longer in business.

The centre was demolished on Friday morning just after 09:00 when the landlord had a team come in and tear the building down after an ispector “condemned” the building declaring it “unsafe for occupation”.

And now the demolition and the legalities surrounding it are being questioned.

A reliable source who cannot be named yet due to legal proceedings, confirms the tenant signed a 10 year lease and has been using the premises for two years.

According to the source, a court case was previously heard with regard to eviciting the tenant but because a 10-year lease was signed, the case was disregarded.

The tenant, a breadwinner, confirmed no inspector was there to inspect the building.

At the time of demolition, the demolition team went ahead while clients’ cars were still on the car lifts and in the haste to save his machinery, the tenant confirms a willing resident was injured when a machine fell on his hands.
