Pupils of Levana Primary School in Lavender Hill commemorated World Aids Day along with the 16 Days of Activism campaign in their own unique way last week.

Red and white ribbons created a sombre atmosphere, but at the same time it also celebrated life. The programme united everyone present in the fight against HIV and Aids and it also made everyone aware of everyday abuse that takes place among those in society who are vulnerable.

The school made a pledge, in remembrance of people who have died or who are suffering, which was read by principal Andre Lamprecht by the lighting of a red and white candle.
