Speedy investigation has led to the arrest of two cable thieves in Rocklands.

On Friday 22 July, at 09:30, Mitchell’s Plain police received a complaint of suspects stealing copper wire next to the railway bridge near Spine Road High School.

The suspects had damaged a light pole and dug a trench to remove the cables.

“They were arrested close to the scene by police who responded timeously,” says police spokesperson Captain Ian Williams.

Two suspects, aged 27 and 25, were arrested on charges relating to possession of stolen property and malicious damage to property.
