A full house of business owners and prospective entrepreneurs made use of the opportunity to learn more about business at a free workshop last week.

The SA Business Resources Institute (Sabri), a business development organisation, hosted the workshop to launch their new offices at the Westridge Shopping Centre on Wednesday.

The workshop, titled “#BusinessBarriersMustFall”, covered a wide variety of business-related topics, including how to minimise red tape, setting up SMEs, growth, sustainability, IT and leadership.

The workshop was followed by a networking opportunity for the business owners and representatives of Absa and the government.

Sabri CEO Lynn Maggott says the event was a huge success.

“The event was an overwhelming success with 67 SMEs in attendance. Participants were informed about services that are available to them that will facilitate the set-up, operationalisation and sustainable growth of their businesses. Absa and the department of economic development and tourism advised participants of services and interventions available to SMEs to facilitate accelerated growth of their businesses,” says Maggott.

“We wish to apologise for the confusion around the date of the event and wish to advise that similar such events will be hosted in the future.”
