Something for everyone

Strandfontein now has their own market.

The Strandfontein night market will look at creating opportunities for informal traders and entrepreneurs requiring access to market or to sell their products.

The Strandfontein Pavilion Market will run every Sunday from 08:00 to 17:30.

“It was established by Wesley Paulse who has since passed away in August this year. His vision was to create a platform for the people of Mitchell’s Plain and Strandfontein to not only sell products but for it to become an institution. The market has started off slow but has slowly progressed into a weekly calendar event,” says Michelle Arends, event organiser.

To build on this vision the management team of the Sunday market will be hosting it’s first night market. “The objectives of the market includes local community development and economic empowerment, to unlock the tourism potential of the Strandfontein and Mitchell’s Plain areas, short term employment opportunities and opportunities for local businesses,” says Arends.

The market opened yesterday and is on until Friday 23 December.

It will be held from 18:00 to 00:00 everynight at the Strandfontein Pavilion with lots of entertainment, food and shopping.

Security and lighting with ample parking will be provided to ensure the safety of visitors to the market.

V For trading opportunities contact Michelle Arends on 084 358 1042 or or visit the Strandfontein Pavilion Market on Facebook.
