Spurs Ladies FC defeated Ikamva FC 4-1 in a Safa Sasol Cape Town regional women’s league encounter played at William Herbert Sports Ground on Saturday.

The hosts, with home turf advantage, caused havoc for the visiting team with their quick passes. Abegail Petersen opened their account in the sixth minute after she volleyed home a loose ball in the Ikamva goal area.

Spurs continued with their aggressive approach and Erin Adams extended their lead in the 28th minute. With a half-time deficit, the visitors responded and Angelina Makeleni netted for them after she out-sprinted the host defenders.

Spurs regained their composure late in the second half after Taylor Roodt and Aimee Simons secured a home victory.

Maties FC narrowly beat Vasco da Gama 1-0 in Bellville.

Both teams played with determination, but their strikers squandered several opportunities. After a goalless first half the visitors changed their tactics. Samantha Stokesberry scored for the hosts in the 75th minute and caused more grief for a Vasco team minutes before the final whistle.

RV United Ladies edged Southern Stars Ladies 1-0 at Loerie Park Stadium. Sive Kenke steered her team to a well deserved victory late in the second half.

UWC Ladies hammered Manenberg Ladies 18-0 at UWC. UWC’s goal scorers were Thembi Kgatlana (6), Amogalang Matau (5), Zelda Fransman (4), Chelsea Daniels (2) and Abongile Dlani.

Santos Ladies sneaked past Portia United 4-3 in a nail-biting encounter played at Crawford on Saturday. The hosts surprised the visitors with an early goal by hat trick scorer Lucinda Croy.

In the 23rd minute it was Croy again that put more pressure on the visitors after she netted from a through pass from twin striker Celine Damond. In the 38th minute Bangani Andisiwe opened the account for Portia with a brilliant goal.

Santos, with a first half lead, had to rely on Croy and Damond after the visitors countered them with ball skills.

Croy netted again for her team and soon afterwards it was Andisiwe that was the key player for her team with an excellent counter attack goal. Bacela Faith levelled the score in the 77th minute. Santos regained their strength and maestro Damond netted the victory goal for them.

Cape Town Roses thrashed Burnley United 6-1 in an encounter played at NY 49 on Sunday.

Safa Cape Town regional women’s league Heideveld Female Football Academy defeated minnows Bright Stars Ladies 9-3 in a Safa Cape Town regional women’s league encounter played at Heideveld on Saturday. The winning team took full advantage of home turf and Fazlyn Adams (4), Kim Mentoor and Verenice Prince netted for them while Nakita Abrahams, Daniele Daniels and Misqah Speelman scored for the visitors. Heideveld is third on the log and with players like Adams, Mentoor and German midfielder Ronja Hoepfner have destroyed all opponents.

RV United Ladies narrowly defeated Ocean View Ladies in a Safa Cape Town regional women’s league fixture played at Ocean View on Saturday. Ocean View with home turf advantage failed to score after their strikers couldn’t net from valuable chances. United were in the driving seat in the 66th minute after Sinokhanyo Saghityi scored the celebration goal for them.

Tafelzucht Ladies FC annihilated Exceptional Ladies 12-1 in an encounter played at the Westridge Oval. The hosts, Tafelzucht, with their first win at their new venue never allowed the visitors to regain their form. Tafelzucht goal scorers were Rolanda Emery with a double hat trick, Miskah Arendse (3), Nabeelah Galant (2) and Levern Sikinaris, while Tamlyn Cupido scored the consolation goal for Exceptionals.

Atlantis Leeds Ladies failed to arrive for their encounter against Lavender Hill FC at Grassy Park and subsequently forfeited.
