Support church’s golf day

2017-09-05 06:01

St Philips Church in Kenwyn will be having its annual Feel Good golf day on 1 October at the Devonvale Golf Club in Stellenbosch.

A percentage of the funds raised will help with the following church projects:

. Heaven’s Nest, a home for orphans and vulnerable children, and Margaret’s House, a home for abused and abandoned boys.

. The support and upliftment of families in the informal settlement in Flamingo Crescent in Lansdowne.

. Feeding and pastoral care of children in Schaapkraal from four informal settlements.

“We would like to invite you to enter a four ball at a cost of R1600 or enter as an individual at a cost of R420. This includes a goodie bag, green and competition fees, a light snack and prizes,” says the church’s Rodney Theys.

The format will be four-ball better ball stableford. Registration begins at 10:00, with tee-off starting at 11:30 on the first and tenth tees respectively.

A prizegiving ceremony and light snack will follow the day’s play at the clubhouse at 19:00.

The church is still on the lookout for prizes to hand out on the day, sponsorship for holes, catering help and donations.
