Police in Rondebosch went on a mission to improve services with a citizen-based monitoring survey held from Monday 12 to Friday 16 September.

The aim of the survey was to find out the views and experiences of the Rondebosch community regarding police services as well as ideas on improvements. This type of survey focuses on the experiences and views of citizens to strengthen accountability and service delivery.

Rondebosch police spokesperson Warrant-Officer Lyndon Sisam says the anonymous survey allowed for the freedom of expression without the fear of intimidation or victimisation.

“We conducted the survey on SurveyMonkey software which was sent via email and WhatsApp groups to different community data bases in the area,” he says.

This includes city improvement districts, security WhatsApp groups as well as key public areas such as shopping malls like Riverside Centre, Rondebosch and UCT.

The average time to complete the survey was about five minutes.
