Teen arrested for gun possession

Police have arrested a Beacon Valley teen for possession of an illegal firearm.

On Sunday 5 February at 16:30 Mitchell’s Plain police were busy with crime prevention duties in Hengelaar Street, when police saw the 19-year-old male walking out of a well-known drug house.

Officers requested permission to search the suspect.

On searchinghim, police found a firearm concealed under his clothing.

The gun had a magazine and fourteen 14 9mm live rounds.

The suspect was arrested. He faces a charge of the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. The suspect is expected to appear in court soon.
