Three bust for counterfeit goods and illegal ammo

Police have confiscated counterfeit goods following a tip-off.

On Sunday 26 June at 11:40 Mitchell’s Plain police received a tip-off of counterfeit goods being manufactured at a house in Winsor Street, Portlands. Police found two men filling empty washing powder bottles with an unknown powder. The two suspects aged 21 and 23 years were arrested for the manufacturing of counterfeit goods. Officers also found a firearm with 14 9mm rounds and two magazines with four rounds.

A third man, aged 35, was arrested on a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
