Asgari Kahn from Burgundy Estate was crowned the winner of Vangate Mall’s Festival of Flavours cooking competition after a live open-air cook-off at the centre on Saturday. Badru Abrahams from Silvertown came second. The five finalists had to cook a pre-determined three-course meal using only the ingredients made available to them, with a secret ingredient making each meal a little more challenging. People’s Post and radio station Voice of the Cape were the official media partners.

The day’s fun kicked off with zumba. Here People’s Post reporter Chevon Booysen and Shafiek Sedick of Voice of the Cape battle it out – zumba style. Visit our Facebook to watch the video.
