Walk lights up lives

Tie up your takkies to help vulnerable children.

A Sea Point-based non-profit organisation will be holding a fun walk next month to raise funds. Life Child works to reach orphan and vulnerable children and restore communities in South Africa, Mozambique and Malawi.

Life Child currently helps over 800 children in Cape Town through partnerships with early childhood development centres in Samora Machel in Philippi and Kossovo. It also operates a safe house which cares for a dozen children.

At last year’s Walk for Little Feet fun walk, 450 participants raised R20 000 to support Life Child. All funds raised through the fun walk go towards the organisation’s key focus areas of educational support, health and nutritional support, social development and recreational opportunities and self-sustainability.

The event will take place at the Mouille Point lighthouse on 9 September at 10:00. V Register online at Quicket.
