2015-10-22 06:00

GLOW TV viewers are in for a healthy treat when Pick n Pay’s newest local cooking show, Food For Living, bursts onto screens on Monday 9 November. Each week the five-minute show will see celebrated South African chefs whip up nutritious and delicious meals, exclusively on Glow (DStv channel 167 and Openview HD channel 108).

Dave Ramsden, divisional general manager at Pick n Pay, says they’re excited about Food For Living.

“It brings together big name chefs, fresh ingredients and scrumptious healthy recipes. Viewers will also be equipped with nutritional knowledge from dietician Danielle Roberts, who also consults for the Sharks rugby team.”

Award-winning journalist, TV and radio presenter Terence Pillay will host Food For Living.

He says although the chefs are some of the best in South Africa, the recipes will be easy to follow at home.

“Each episode is themed and our chefs will prepare wholesome dishes for occasions like Diwali and Christmas. They’ll also share their favourite recipes in episodes themed around meals like curries, Sunday lunch and breakfast.”

Chefs to be features include, among others, Executive Chef of Southern Sun Elangeni and Maharani, Shaun Munro, Dean Uren the Executive Chef at Fairmont Hotels and Resorts and Sandren Govender, Suncoast Towers head chef. Also hosting an episode is MasterChef SA Season 3 runner-up, Siphokazi Mdlankomo.

Glow’s manager Naz Khan says: “November is national Diabetes Month and with this illness being of concern among our viewers we believe it’s the ideal time to introduce a local health-related cookery show.”

Be sure not to miss Food For Living, which will air a few times a day on Glow (DStv channel 167 and Openview HD channel 108)
