THE man who survived a recent motorbike accident on the N2 near Hibberdene says he thanks God for saving him and the incident has strengthened his faith.

Simo Nzimande from Margate was driving a Yamaha K9 that collided with a 5 000 litre water tank that fell off a trailer soon after nightfall.

“It’s a miracle I survived that high-impact collision with only a few scrapes and bruises. I also think the full protective gear I was wearing helped,” said Nzimande, a member of the Durban-based Amabhubesi Bike Club.

His bike burst into flames after the accident.

A witness at the scene said Nzimande kept saying “thank you Jesus” as he lay on the road.

Nzimande was admitted to Port Shepstone Hospital for observation and was discharged the next morning.

Nzimandehas been riding motorbikes since 2006 and the latest accident, his fourth, has not put him off riding motorbikes he said. - Supplied
