THIS week has been a big one for news. It is with great sadness that we learnt of the family of eight who were murdered on Wednesday as reported in our front-page story.

As South Africans we hear of and experience horrendous crimes every day, but one simply cannot get used to things like this.

The South Coast Fever wishes peace upon the remaining family members and their relatives in this hour of darkness.

On another important story this week, it was pleasing to hear the municipality finally saying it has a plan in place to deal with potholes.

It goes without saying that here on the South Coast we have some of the worst roads in the province. Since tourism is the main driver of the local economy, this is welcome news indeed.

Lastly, we wish all matriculants good luck as they began their final examinations on Monday
