PORT Shepstone police received information of a funeral parlour robbery on Thursday.

In the early hours of the morning, the security guard on duty at the parlour was confronted by two armed suspects who were in a black vehicle.

The suspects managed to enter the funeral parlour and took computer equipment and fled. Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Zandra Wiid said police received information at 10am and constables Melvin Newell and Rhandir Dhaniram responded and stopped a metered taxi in the CBD,” said Wiid.

She said the police officer arrested a 31-year-old man who was in possession of a bag containing the stolen property.

The suspects were charged and will appear in court for possession of stolen property. - Supplied
