A MAN has been killed and his son injured in a crash on Sunday at about 11pm.

KZN Emergency Medical Services paramedics responded to the R61, just before Port Edward.

“When they arrived at the scene they found that a car had left the road and crashed down an embankment. The vehicle came to rest on its side, about 50 metres away from the road,” said KZN EMS spokesperson Robert McKenzie.

“A man estimated to be in his fifties was killed in the crash,” he added.

Paramedics treated his 10-year-old son, who had sustained serious injuries, before transporting him to hospital.

The police are investigating the exact circumstances preceding the crash.
