MORE than 20 grannies and grand- fathers from retirement villages took part in the Rotary Club’s 32nd annual findraising walk, which started at 8am from St Michael’s beach going to Uvongo beach and back via Saints Walk.

The elders had support in the form of grandchildren, dogs and family members with the aim of getting fit and of course, reaching the finish line.

The Hibiscus Coast Rotary Anns and Rotarians, who organised the walk, said it was a wonderful way to honour the senior citizens and to thank them for what they have contributed to the South Coast.

Various retirement villages and Rotary clubs had tea and meals for the elderly.

Entry for grandparents was free, and this included a hearty breakfast however, grandchildren and family members paid R50 for the breakfast, which was a way of raising funds for a good cause
