Praises for Sheppie principal

2015-04-30 14:58

AS parents we might think that teachers have the prime responsibility for moulding and disciplining pupils, rather than the parents. However, when parents, as family heads, raise their children correctly it helps them become responsible, obedient and be able to take education seriously. It is true that a small percentage of children can become unruly for various reasons such as peer pressure which normally happens in a school environment.

This then makes heads of schools important.

On behalf of the governing body and parents I commend Port Shepstone Secondary principal Shireen Ramkelown for the following reasons - she has assisted dedicated teachers by the excellent example she sets, she provides constructive counsel for parents and pupils at meeting through her words and actions, some may have felt she was too strict at times however, one realises after her departure that she was a pillar to the school.

She was a good disciplinarian to the pupils and good morals, dress and grooming, especially good education were her priorities.

As parents we have ample evidence of the seed she has sown and the fruits they bear year after year. This school has shown the best results.

As we have seen in the South Coast Fever the mayor presented Ramkelown with an award for “Best Urban High School”.

On behalf of the parents I am positive that the staff will follow her example.

This school has the potential to still yield the best results with the new principal.

As parents, the governing body, teachers, pupils and the community in general, we wish Ramkelown all the best for the future.
