Prostitution in Marburg - residents concerned

2015-08-27 06:01

PROSTITUTION is rife in the residential area of Marburg. In full view of houses and opposite a high school, women, dressed in provocative clothing, wait on a street corner every night for clients.

What’s is more disturbing is that they ply their trade from early in the evening when families are commuting from work, shopping, and the like.

Although they are picked up nearly every night, the weekends seem to be the busiest.

A concerned resident told the Fever that a vacant spot next to her house is abuzz with sexual activity on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

“I have two children and fear the day they see what’s going on in the property next to us. Something has to be done to rid these women and men from our area,” said the mother.

She said it was mainly elderly men who picked up the women and most of them drive “posh cars”.

“I’ve seen a man walking around on the street during weekends. The women follow him so I assume he is their pimp.”

Another resident said it was a major concern as prostitution always attracts drug use.
